Semiconductor Equipment Technician

SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for the repair and refurbishment of equipment used in semiconductor and related technologies.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Facilitize semiconductor tools
  • Maintains small parts and hardware inventory needed for refurbishments
  • Checks particle count in cleanroom (weekly)
  • Makes demonstration videos for customer acceptance
  • Installs shipping (lockdown) kits
  • Break down/secure tool for handover as needed
  • Actively collects all materials required to complete orders (e.g. conduct research, get quotes, submit requests for parts)
  • Build LCD Monitor Upgrade Kits for KLA 6XXX tools
  • Clean tools (before and after refurb)
  • Create a “Items for Handover” list (Packing List) 
  • Maintains accurate records and logs (Master Job Folders) of work performed, modifications, calibration, and adjustments
  • Perform tool audits with partners via video conferencing (before partners arrival)
  • Prefurb tools (before partners arrival)
  • Maintains the highest quality of work on all tasks assigned
  • Understands business implications of decisions, and makes decisions accordingly
  • Observes safety and security procedures and uses equipment and materials properly
  • Provides documentation for live orders as needed (e.g. failure analysis report, evaluation report, Calibration Report)
  • Provides technical support to customers and sales staff as needed (e.g. lead time, cost, description of how a tool/parts functions)
  • Other duties may be assigned

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • Must have semiconductor manufacturing experience (minimum 2 years)
  • Must have a BS in a technical field or 6 years of related technical experience (BSME or BSEE preferred)

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Troubleshooting and component  board level repair a plus
  • Precision mechanical repair a plus
  • Skilled at performing work with a high attention to detail
  • Possess the ability to work independently from general instructions
  • Able to adapt to change, delays or unexpected events
  • Commits to long hours of work when necessary to reach goals
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-motivated and disciplined team player
  • Must be able to complete projects on time and within budget
  • Excellent computer proficiency (MS Word, Excel, and Gmail, GDocs)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Prolonged periods of using hand tools to perform work on equipment
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds at times
